Scalable Arbitrary Surrounded Surface Calibration for Multi-projector Rendering Application
نویسندگان
چکیده
A scalable multi-projector calibration method for arbitrary surrounded projection surface is proposed. The method is based on the viewing parameter based principle, which ensures that at each view point and in each direction, the image observed by the camera is the image rendered in these viewing parameters. The principle also ensures that multi-projector can be well aligned. Coded structured light method is used to establish the mapping relation of the projector image coordinates and the camera image coordinates. By prewarp the projection source image according to the mapping relation, image distortions can be removed. A high accuracy mechanical device is used to put the camera on. By moving or rotating the device, camera’s extrinsic parameters are easy to be resolved. The method has a build-in support for scalability and the results show that it achieves two-pixel accuracy.

We introduce PixelFlex2, our newest scalable wall-sized, multi-projector display system. For it, we had to solve most of the difficult problems left open by its predecessor, PixelFlex, a proof-of-concept demonstration driven by a large, multi-headed SGI graphics system. PixelFlex2 retains the achievements of PixelFlex (high-performance through single-pass rendering, single-pixel accuracy for ge...

TYLER M. JOHNSON: A Cooperative Approach to Continuous Calibration in Multi-Projector Displays (Under the direction of Henry Fuchs) Projection-based displays are often used to create large, immersive environments for virtual reality (VR), simulation, and training. These displays have become increasingly widespread due to the decreasing cost of projectors and advances in calibration and renderin...

In this technical report, we present a detailed overview of PixelFlex, a multi-projector display system that combines multiple roughly aligned projectors into a unified highresolution display. We describe the current prototype, the automated calibration process, and two rendering algorithms that support interactive applications. The first rendering algorithm is a one-pass technique that assumes...

In this paper, we propose a novel virtual display system for a real object surface by using a video projector, so that the viewer can feel as if digital images are printed on the real surface with arbitrary shape. This system consists of an uncalibrated camera and video projector connected to a same PC and creates a virtual object by rendering 2D contents preserved beforehand onto a white objec...
